Traditional education teaches why the world is the way the world is, but we don’t really know how the world is until we’re grown! Everything we learn is more meaningful and impactful when it’s relatable and relevant. Experiential learning makes a difference.

What’s one piece of advice you’d give to students today?

Be curious. Even if you aren’t inclined to be curious, make a habit of choosing to be. Every day, ask one person at least one question about one thing you do not know much about or understand. And then ask why. And then ask why. And then ask why again. Just try it.

I love our service because it positively impacts the lives of so many people. Everybody wants to hope they are changing the world, while we can say definitively that we are. We support educators by giving them the tools they need to share their passions with students that receive the opportunity to explore their gifts to find a career that grants them the ability to retire, long into the future, confidently saying they never ‘worked’ a day in their lives. Now that is life changing, and that is what I want to do every day!

What’s one piece of advice you’d give to students today?

Try not to worry about what you want to be when you grow up. Spend your energy seeking opportunities to gain new experiences. Understanding what you don’t want to do is as valuable as understanding what you enjoy, so you win with any new experience.

I am passionate about workforce and economic development. My job is to bridge the gap between education, industry, and public organizations. What’s one piece of advice you’d give to students today?

Opportunities are revealed to those who seek them. Don’t wait until you feel ready or for the “right time.” Take initiative, be curious, ask questions, make mistakes, get up, and keep moving forward. Don’t hesitate to show the world who you are and what you can do. Take action!

That experience drives everything I do today. I’m committed to helping build education systems that don’t just teach but transform. Where every student can find their place, connect learning to real life, and step confidently into a future they can own.

What’s one piece of advice you’d give to students today?

Your story is not a limitation; it’s your power. The challenges you face are building resilience, perspective, and strength that will set you apart. Stay curious, lean into opportunities to learn by doing, and don’t wait for permission to pursue what interests you. The world is changing fast, and the people who succeed will be the ones who adapt, take initiative, and keep moving forward no matter where they started.

It doesn’t matter what you do. If you enjoy it and are willing to try and be the best at it, you’ll be successful! Sometimes it takes a while to find the niche that suits your skills, but keep at it, and you’ll get there.
