Industry-Recognized Credentials

Certification programs from SME are the industry standard for assessing and acknowledging student’s professional knowledge, skills, competencies, and/or abilities. Their certification programs are led by professionals within the manufacturing industry who guide the development and continuous improvement of the bodies of knowledge and competency models upon which the certifications are based.

Certified Manufacturing Technology Sales Engineer (CMTSE)

The Certified Manufacturing Technology Sales Engineer (CMTSE) program provides national validation and recognition of exceptional business acumen and technical knowledge among sales professionals, as well as the OEMs and distributors who seek to distinguish products and services in a crowded, globally competitive market.

Lean Certification

Lean Certification validates your knowledge of and experience with lean principles. Lean Certification is a global, industry-recognized professional credential, and has three levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold.

Certified Manufacturing Associate (CMfgA)

The CMfgA focuses on basic manufacturing concepts and that demonstrates an individual’s potential for high-demand, entry-level careers, including assemblers, manufacturing associates, and production operators.

Certified Manufacturing Technologist (CMfgT)

The CMfgT is an entry-level certification that benefits both new manufacturing engineers and experienced manufacturing engineers without other credentials.

Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE)

The CMfgE is ideal for those in a leadership position or who have supported manufacturing practices and processes in an organization.

Additive Manufacturing Certification

The process of earning certification prepares individuals with this knowledge, and the respected certification provides recognition of the individual’s demonstrated competencies.

Individuals may pursue Additive Manufacturing Certification at the Fundamentals or Technician level, depending on their knowledge and experience. These certifications create a flexible, modular pathway for mastering the principles and processes of additive manufacturing.

Certified Additive Manufacturing Fundamentals (CAMF)

The Fundamentals exam focuses on the basics of additive manufacturing, including a comprehensive overview of additive manufacturing, the seven additive manufacturing technologies, and basic safety guidelines.

Certified Additive Manufacturing Technician (CAMT)

The Technician exam focuses on the methodology of additive manufacturing, including the seven additive manufacturing technologies, processes, material selection, post-processing, and basic safety guidelines.

Robotics in Manufacturing Fundamentals

This certification, focused on the fundamentals of manufacturing robotics, provides a starting point for career pathways in the field of robotics.

Electric Vehicle Fundamentals (EVF) Certification

This certification is focused on the fundamentals of electric vehicles, provides a starting point for career pathways in the EV industry.
