Solar Energy

Future growth in solar energy markets is foundational to alternative energy solutions programs for the next few decades. Solar energy is finding a broad range of new applications and thus will increase demand for qualified solar technicians. Solar technicians require skill sets in electric motor control, wiring, rotating machines, piping, pumps, power distribution and critical analysis capabilities. Because solar is a relatively new energy source, technicians must find new ways to apply the technology in both commercial and residential markets. Technicians will also need more specialized skills in solar installation, PV and thermal system troubleshooting, specialized solar piping and pumps. With demand rising for solar technology education, we offer programs from qualified manufacturers.

For job-ready skills as solar technicians, the programs we offer incorporate both skill development from basic operation to complex troubleshooting (fault insertion, system performance measurement, application), PV array alignment, thermal drainback malfunction and other new situations in solar technology.
